Hey, and welcome!
My name is Matthew (Matt outside of the office!), and I’m hoping that this page will help raise both awareness and funds for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
I was diagnosed with Crohn’s at 8, and was promptly informed of the physical limitations that come with a Crohn’s Disease diagnosis. Well, here I am! I’ve been fortunate enough now, at 23, to be medication-free and preparing to run the Ironman 70.3 with CCFA Team Challenge in the UK on June 15th next year!
iFightIBD with fitness, a healthy lifestyle, a positive attitude, and a great support system. How do youFightIBD?
I urge you, no matter how you found this page (Facebook, email, blog, instagram, or stroke of weird luck), to consider donating to the CCFA today. I’m not asking you to donate for my sake, but for so many of the other 1.4 million Americans with Crohn’s or Colitis who are suffering, going through endless hospital stays, getting chemotherapy infusions, parts of their bowels completely removed, and taking countless pills to try to manage their IBD.
I ask you to donate for the kids in the hospital beds, getting told that they have a disease that can never be cured, and that a normal life may never be possible. I hope that I can be a role model for them, to show them that they can live their dreams, travel wherever they want to, and compete with everyone else. But, your donations could be the key to unlocking the cure, so that they can do it themselves.
